Infamous.
Travis Lemanksi #19
Already
marked in the history books as the team who broke down all the walls
in Professional Paintball, what impact has playing in the NPPL Super
7 World Series had on your team?
It has been an interesting journey. We honestly didn't think as
many people would care if we played S7! But it was like everyone
freaked out
..we went to Tampa, had a blast playing paintball,
won and came home. People freaked out! We had fun.
What
adjustments did the team need to make in game plans and strategies
while preparing for this event? How many 7-man practices did the
team get in prior to the Tampa Bay event?
Well funny you ask
..we didn't have any practices! We had some
rough starts getting out of the X-ball mode but I think we got the
hang of it by the end :
How
long did the team know you would be joining the Super 7 before you
went public with it?
Hmmmmm we had been talking about it since the end of last season,
but I don't think we actually decided until right before Orlando
psp. Then everybody else was like you guys aren't really going to
play
EVEN THOUGH WE ALREADY PAID!
Was
this a group decision from the start, or was this an ongoing debate?
No it was a big debate between everyone. Some of the guys were a
bit nervous and others were anxious
.eventually we reached
a group decision and the rest is history
When
was the final decision made to do this, and how did the team come
to this decision? Was there something that triggered it or did it
build over time?
I think the group as a whole just wanted the freedom to play paintball
wherever they could
.it made sense to be a "pro"
and play for money and to represent our sponsors in the best way
possible. How much can you actually represent your sponsors by only
playing 5 events? You owe it to them to be at every major event.
How
did the event compare to your expectations?
Beyond our expectations
..every single detail was covered for
us
it really is FOR the player.
Were
you welcomed by the other teams in the Super 7 or were you treated
as a "target"?
Maybe a little of both, but it was all for the best in the end
Watching
Infamous win that 2nd game against Dynasty in the Tampa Bay finals
was an experience no witnesses will soon forget. The energy and
intensity in the stands and on the field was off the charts
and the reaction of Infamous was the wildest the Center Court has
ever seen! Describe what it felt like- accomplishing the unthinkable
in front of thousands.
It was incredible
.that had been building for a LONG time.
We had been working hard almost every weekend for the past 2 years
but without any recognition at all. It was definitely great to hear
that we had FANS! Weird.
Coming
into the NPPL Super 7 Denver event, more teams such as the Ironmen
and Shock will be following your lead. What advice do you have for
these teams and how do you feel about their participation?
I think it's awesome! Can't wait to play them again!
I
can verify that the fan-base for Infamous is growing daily based
on the emails the NPPL receive regarding the team. Once the DVD
and other coverage of the Tampa Bay event come out, the team's popularity
will only grow. Do you feel your already all-star roster is ready
for this level of attention and how do you plan on making sure the
fame doesn't affect the team's performance on the field?
Well there is not much we can do about Gators huge fanbase! As for
the rest of us I think we will be just fine
.I mean Denver
will only be our second event!
In
playing the Tampa Bay event, many people had your team under a microscope
to see how well you did in the event and if you enjoyed it. What
do you have to say to these people?
Scope this!!!!
If
Infamous did not win the event, do you feel that competing in the
Super 7 would have the same impact on the rest of the industry as
it has?
What do you mean "did not" win?
Who
are your sponsors for the 2004 season and how can we find out more
about Infamous?
First off, HUGE thanks to Gino of NPS who made this possible. Our
Sponsors for 2004 currently are National Paintball Supply, Empire
Paintball, Bob Long Intimidators, Crossfire Tanks, Hybrid Paintball.
Check out our website www.teaminfamous.com
And
finally, each team in the NPPL is asked to complete a biography
for our television and live show announcers. In this bio, it asks
the team to choose a song or songs for our Commentators to play
after you win on the Center Court
what song(s) did Infamous
chose?
One shot Eminem
..it seemed to fit. Haha!
