The force behind M.O.D. is the DADDY, Ron Butler. When Ron’s son Richie got turned on by paintball he decided to take this passion to the next level.
Richie 15, joined local team M.O.D. and the rest is history (well it will be). Ron saw first hand how paintball is the perfect way to learn respect, control and team play. The ‘ace place’ for a youngster to grow up.
Last year’s NPPL New Jersey event was held in Ron’s home town. So, as the show was in town, Ron came over to soak up the WDP vibe. Ron went away with ideas (and an NPPL field), and the Old Bridge Paintball Club was born. This is a private club where local teams are invited to practice against M.O.D. They have their own high pressure air set up, tech support and most of the team live on site. These guys really are livin’ paintball. It was here that their relationship with WDP began. This is the future. M.O.D. players range from 15 to 31 yrs from all walks of life. They have nothing to prove they just live paintball. This is the WDP way.
WDP have and do sponsor some of the world’s greatest teams but there is no better way to re-stake a claim on reality than by helping and nurturing what could turn out to be one hell of a paintball team. So far this season the Division 2 team have finished 10th at HB and 20th at Tampa. The whole team is on Angels and WDP feel that the talent, structure, facilities, drive and togetherness that M.O.D. possess, integrated with the unique performance and features of the ANGEL will result in M.O.D. coming on strong in 2005.
