PSP
Announces 2003 Schedule
Paintball
Sports Promotions (PSP) has released their 2003 schedule of events.
They will be hosting five events, each with a 5-man & 10-man
division and an X Ball tournament. The PSP has also launched a new
website with more detailed information than previous versions. The
PSP website is www.nppl.com.
(This is not to be confused with the NPPL Super-7 World Series website
which is www.nppl.info.)
Specific venues for each PSP tournament aren't set yet, but the
dates and areas are listed below:
March
5-9, 2003: Los Angeles, California
April 30-May 4, 2003: Las Vegas, Nevada
June 18-22, 2003: Chicago, Illinois
August 20-24, 2003: Atlantic City, New Jersey
October 19-26, 2003: World Cup, Orlando, Florida
5-Man:
Semi pro, amateur & novice teams can play standard 5-man center
flag on March 5 & 6. $500 team entry fee, includes air.
10-Man/X
Ball: Semi pro, amateur & novice teams can register for play
in the standard 10-man two flag competition or the new X Ball 5-man
format on March 7, 8 & 9. $1750 team entry fee, includes air.
Pro X Ball: There will be an exclusive league of top pro teams who
will play only the X Ball format at these events. That list of teams
has yet to be finalized.
The 2003
Mardi Gras tournament, which takes place Feb. 19-23, will not be
a PSP event, and will not count towards overall PSP series points.
However, according to the PSP's Rennick Miller, "Mardi Gras
is the first part of the X Ball league and pro X Ball will be played."
This means that points from the pro X Ball event will count towards
the X Ball series. However, the exact formula of that X Ball pro
league has not been determined yet.
